As some of you may know, the Hermosa Beach Farmers Market has been running strong since last September.

For new residents of Hermosa and the surrounding area, this is definitely something worth checking out. Every Wednesday from 11am-4pm, the Hermosa Pier is taken over by awesome local California vendors with some really unique items for sale.

There is a company called Sola Food that sells great canned jams and spreads "made with natural ingredients and lots of love."

All of the vendors are small-business "mom and pop" type shops which feels nice to support.  You can pick up fresh organic blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, fresh corn etc. The list goes on.

A new farmers' market at Hermosa Beach's Pier Plaza promises something for just about everyone: kids and families, beach-goers, and the lunchtime crowd.

Now held on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., the market offers a mix of fresh produce, prepared foods, drinks, and handmade products.

The local South Bay charitable organization the the Sandpipers hosts its biggest annual fundraising gala next month. It will be the 23rd Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon on Sunday, March 22, held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

The event features a boutique and silent auction starting at 10:00 AM, followed by the fashion show, luncheon, and live auction at noon.

The fashion show will feature the designs of Karen Millen, a British designer with boutiques in over 65 countries around the world, including stores in Beverly Hills and West L.A.

Tickets are limited now. Runway seats are still available for $175 apiece, with a $5 surcharge with credit card.
