Hermosa Beach Can't Miss Open Houses (8/6-8/7/16)

This week we wanted to share with readers our Top 3 Favorite Open Houses this weekend in Hermosa Beach. Each home stood out for a different reason and we think these would be great choices to go and check out in person. Let us know what you think!

132 28th (5br/5ba, 3800 sqft.)

First up is 132 8th Street. The home stands out for a couple reasons. First is that we love this location. Situated in North Hermosa, right on the border with MB, this is such a great little pocket between both communities.

Getting to MB or HB is easy. The home also stands out for its great looking interior.. and the amazing ocean views.

From the official listing description: "Located in the heart of prime North Hermosa, this home is the perfect combination of luxurious beach living with East Coast charm. Just three houses from the Strand, you can feel the ocean breeze and relish in the amazing ocean views. It’s the ideal sand section location being equidistant from both Manhattan Beach Pier and Hermosa Beach Pier. Exquisite attention to detail and top of the line amenities throughout… including walnut hardwood floors, custom built-ins, Rohl & Newport Brass plumbing fixtures, Walker Zanger tile, limestone & marble, a steam shower… just to name a few. A gourmet kitchen complete with a honed ... marble countertop in the island with an oversized Shaw farmhouse sink, a Wolf range, top of the line Sub-Zero PRO 48 refrigerator, butler’s pantry, wine refrigerator and dumbwaiter. Spectacular floor plan boosts 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and in addition has an office, a recreation/media room and rooftop deck. Come see the Hamptons meet Hermosa."

132 8th starts at $4.299M and is open Sat. and Sun. from 2-5pm.

1100 Loma (5br/4ba. 2800 sqft.)

Is 1100 Loma new construction? Nope.

Does it have fancy plantation shutters (that you'd never use) and a Sonos home audio system? Nope.

Thats why we like it. This home was built in 1930! It is in a great location right near downtown Hermosa. Everything is walkable. It has 2800 sqft. of living space on a huge private/quiet 4670 sqft. lot.

There is something to be said for old world charm and this place is worth checking out in your search for a beach home. You're getting a 5br home for $2.550M and it comes with ocean views...

From the official listing description: "This prime Hermosa Beach 'Sand Section' property is nestled in on a quiet street and boasts a rare 4,664 square foot (R-3) zoned lot. With a west facing appointment, it looks down a peaceful shortened block of 11th St. Take a short stroll for a couple of blocks (in almost any direction), and you will find yourself at the beach, or a tree lined jogging path, or at one of Hermosa's fine eateries or entertainment venues. A few more blocks and you've arrived at the award winning Hermosa Valley (Elementary & Middle) School. Oh and let's not forget the great views...! Views include: Ocean / Hermosa Hills / Palos Verdes Peninsula / Hermosa Pier and more... You will want to put on your creative hat or bring your designer / architect along when seeing this property, for it truly offers up numerous possibilities and the greatest upside potential one could ever hope for!"

1100 Loma starts at $2.550M and is open Sun. from 1-4pm.

1737 Valley Park (4br/3ba, 2625 sqft.)

We chose to feature this property because it just seems like you're getting so much for your dollar.

This is a great family home with 4 bedrooms. It has a nice yard for kids to play in. It's also been very nicely updated. There is still potential to do even more with the property if you felt so inclined. All that, paired with the great location close to town really makes this seem like a deal.

From the official listing description: "Ideal Hermosa location just a short walk to Pier Ave. and 5 blocks to beach. Beach path is one home away. Huge fenced yard providing privacy and opportunity to add a pool, sports court or just a place for the kids and pets to run around and enjoy. Good size bedrooms, huge walk in closets, tankless water heater, new windows and flooring, water saving artificial turf. This is a neighborhood you'll never want to leave with block parties and kids riding their bikes in the street. Open concept floor plan is ideal for entertaining. First floor bedroom and full bath plus bonus room. Lots of new construction in neighborhood. Move right in or build/expand."

1737 Valley Park starts at $2.299M and is open Sun. from 2-4pm.
