If you haven't been down to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach for a while, it's time to take another trip.

The aquarium, which displays nearly 500 different species of inhabitants of the Pacific Ocean, offers a diverse array of programs for children and adults.

New as of this summer are the Ocean Science Center Gallery and the Arctic & Antarctic exhibition. In the Ocean Science Center Gallery, visitors can experience how climate change and maritime trade and ports impact our lives.

The Arctic & Antarctic exhibit tells the story of how these amazing environments are in peril because of climate change (and recently welcomed two new arctic fox pups!).

Do your kids need to run off some excess energy?

If you haven't been to Scooter's Jungle yet, now's the time to head over and experience some seriously bouncy fun.

Scooter's Jungle, which opened earlier this year, is located in a stretch of light industrial buildings in El Segundo that you would be forgiven for missing entirely if you didn't know it was there.

Once you step inside, however, there's a completely different kind of energy. There are two gymnasium-sized rooms with custom-made huge inflatable jumpers and permanent structures.

Your kids can play ball in the inflatable basketball court, jump through obstacle courses, slide down enormous slides, and zip across zip lines, landing on a soft, bouncy structure each time.

What are your kids up to on Thursdays? Need a little something fun to make it through the longest part of the week? If you haven't stopped in at the Kids Club at Manhattan Village Mall, you should give it a try.

The Kids Club offers a free weekly set of activities designed for children under 6 years of age who are accompanied by an adult. It's a great way to let your kids try something new without a weeks-long commitment.

And who knows? They may run into some of their friends - or make new friends - there too.

Here's a look at the current Kids Club schedule:
